Spring Time is a great time to install your new Garmin GPS 541. Are you looking for a marine navigator that’ll also help you figure out where the fish are? Reviewers who bought the Garmin MAP 541S Marine Chartplotter/Fishfinder Combo say its interface is easy to read at a glance. They say the maps of the U.S and Bahamas are informative, detailed and easy to use. Reviewers say the sonar works well to help them gauge bottom clearance in waterways. They also say they the worldwide marine base map comes in handy.

If you have logged more than 100 hours on your 4-stroke outboard motor, stern drive or inboard engine, consider changing the crankcase oil and filter. On the other hand, it's best to change the oil at the very end of the season so combustion by-products like sulfuric acid can't etch the crankshaft journals during lay-up. Beat the Spring Break rush and call 832-385-9970 today for FAST mobile service.

Because the oil is mixed in with the gas in a 2-stroke engine, combustion tends to produce carbonization more easily than in larger engines. This means that deposits form more quickly and need to be cleanedaway more often, so decarbonization is very important. Begin by removing the high voltage cable and spark plugs, then take off the four to six cylinder head nuts. Support the cylinder and carefully pry off the cylinder head, being carefully to damage neither seals nor the head itself. |

I recommend the use of Engine Tuner. This product removes gum and varnish build-up, excessive carbon deposits from rings, pistons, valves and ports. Call 832-385-9970 to ask about your Spring/Summer Outboard Service.

A fuel water separator is used to remove contaminant water from gasoline or diesel fuel. Fuel water separators are commonly installed on boats to prevent water in the fuel from reaching the engine. Water is a particular problem for marine engines because of the humid marine environment. Call High Tech Marine for all your mobile maintenace and service on your outboard or inboard engine.

Yamaha recommends a 10-micron fuel filter. Installing one is a 15 to 20-minute project, as long as you have the right tools and connection hardware or you can call High Tech Marine 832- 385-9970. Start by securely thru-bolting the fuel filter canister frame in a convenient and accessible spot. Next, take the supply line from your boat's fuel tank and snap it onto a 3/8-inch bronze barb that you have screwed into the input side of the fuel filter frame. Connect another fuel line to the engine from the output side of the filter setup via a second 3/8-inch bronze barb and then attach stainless steel hose clamps for each connection. Spin-on a new fuel filter canister and you are ready to go fishing.

At least once a year, to extend its life and ensure its reliability, give your outboard motor a tune-up. High Tech Marine
